... are the keys to losing weight and obtaining what we think is impossible. I have lost 25 pounds since October but last week was a bad week. I only worked out twice and did not eat well at all. Then Saturday was horrible in all aspects but thanks to the love and support that was expressed to me...I remembered that I am not alone in this journey. It's a life changer for sure. If it wasn't for the goal of serving my 2 year mission for the LDS church, i'd probabaly still be lost in my lethargic ways and cursing life instead of enjoying it.
So far this week, I have been eating well and have worked out everyday. I feel that it's not enough though. I need to push myself to the limit for I know that I will be able to "run and not be weary, and walk and not faint." (D&C 89:20) A lot easier said then done. Sometimes, well most of the time I wrestle with myself with eating the right things and going to the gym but I am greatful for the knowledge of our Heavenly Father to whom we may communicate with and draw strength from his gospel. And I am also very greatful for my friends and family who help me with kind words and advise.
Im not looking forword to the challengee within a challenge starting next Friday. I'll be in New Orleans and then Utah. I will be gone for about 3 weeks. There is going to be sooo much good food and no gym around where i'm staying. Grrr!!!!! Needless to say, i'm trying to come up with ways to not eat fried turkey, andouille, po'boys and beignets the whole time. hmmm food in New Orleans is sooo good. Oh Biscuits and gravy...My weekness. Man it's not going to be fun but oh well. Gotta do what I gotta do. I hope to come back and blog about success. So wish me luck!! haha
(sorry for any bad grammer and misspelling of words. I don't know how to use the spell check on this thing) lol

Veggie chips
Up at 5am today for the first of many am work outs with my buddy Eddie. (thanks for sacrificing your time for helping achieve my dreams) It went well. A little tough but it was only day one.
After thinking it over for a while, I decided to do the weight watchers program. It's easy. Just buy the meals and make sure i don't go over my allotted points.(i don't know how many points a day i get just yet so i give myself 11 points.)haha
On my way to work this morning, i stopped by this new health/organic food store. Sprouts. I bought baby carrots and veggie chips so i can have something to snack on inbetween meals. (i was feeling proud of myself because im eating good and feeling good.) I come to find out that my veggie chips are fried! AHHHHHHHH. What the heck? I was soo excited that i found a new and healthy snack that tasted sooo good! haha Since i don't want to eat anything fried, I gave them away and stuck with the carrots
And now im sitting hear sweaty from the gym again. An hour worth of cardio and 10 min of the sauna. I feel so good but i need to do more!
I am half way to my mission call! I got this SON!

Utah trip.
Hey everybody, i went to Utah this past weekend. I was there for 5 days. Where to start...Wednesday the 28th around 830pm. I get a phone call asking if I could meet with the stake president A.S.A.P. As i drove to church, i had a feeling of what it was gonna to be about. I need to lose more weight so i can get called to serve a mission. I felt happy and excited because i know i can do this with the help of the Lord. 1 Nephi 3:7...I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.
After our talk, I went to play indoor soccer, came home, showered and jump into my really cool rental car. 1230am here i am on my way to Utah. I was excited to vist friends and attend General Conference.
Thurday 1230pm. I arrive to my religious Mother land...Utah!I stayed in Sandy with an old friend of mine. Thursday and Friday were just about hanging out with friends.
Saturday morning rolled around and I had a ticket to Attend the morning session. I was sooo stoked! I get to see the prophet and apostles and hear their messages in person. The spirit there was soo amazing! The words from our church leaders are definitely inspired!
After Conference, I was very excited too meet up with my friends Kara, Lauren, Amy and Amy's cousin Nataly!
We went back to Kara's house. Thats when I meet the nicest family on earth!
We watched the second session of conference there and hung out for a bit. After the girls left it was just me with the Van De Graaff family. I met Kara's sister, Chelise. She took me on a photo shoot. lol (pictures coming soon) I am happy that I had the oppertunity to meet and to get to know the family. All soo beautiful.
Later that evening, i went to the priest hood session of General conference with the VDG brothers and father. I heard the things i needed to hear in that session to remember why it was inportant to serve a mission and how to keep strong and diligent in my efforts for weight loss. After all, it is for a righteous purpose and i know im not alone in this.
Sunday came around and I went to the VGD home again to watch conference and Sunday dinner. It was beautiful to feel and see the love they have for eachother and it was fun watching the children play. How i wish i could be 7 years old again! I was always very exited to wear my new Ninja Turtle underwear!haha my favorite part of the night was eating dinner while talking about conference and the evening walk.
Later that night, i went back to visit with the Mendoza family. After i arrived, my friend Angel proposed to his girlfriend and well... i'll be going back to Utah in 2 month for the wedding.
Monday morning came around and it was time for me to hit the road again. Before i left, Chelise and I went to the Salt Lake temple. It is sooo beautiful inside and out. Everything hand made/carved. no wonder it took 40 years to build. After, Chelise and I took some pictures and I walked around temple aquare, bought some things and started the drive home.
i'll find out how to post pictures soon!
So here i am home from my trip. i brought a little bit of Utah with me. By that I mean, I caught a flu bug or something. I spent all night hugging the toilet. We became good friends! I found out what his name is. Tom.
Thats it for now. I want to work out and I should but i'm still not feeling very well. Tomorrow FO SHO!

Day one of my blog
So i decided to stop being lazy and start posting after a weekend of fun, love, and inspiration. im just gonna jump right into it and start with what has been going on with me as of late.
I am LDS (Mormon) and as a male in the LDS church, we have a priest hood duty to serve a 2 year mission to invite people to Christ and to hear the restored Gospel. Young men between the ages of 19-25 have that time frame to serve a mission. I am 25 years old and turn 26 on the 6th of March. So i don't have much time to left if i want to serve a mission.
Part of serving a mission is undergoing a physical evaluation amongst other things. To make a long story short, there is a weight requirment due to the physical aspect of the mission.Walking and riding a bike up and down hills as well as far distances, requires me to have an able body to do so.
The last year or so, i have been trying to eat well and work out. I have some success but i found out just the other night that unfortunatly i need to lose more weight. 100 pounds more. Once I do that, then I get my call and off for "2 years to help change the world". I don't have much time, i have about 4 months MAX!
So this is my current trial right now. This is also the first time in my life that i know, even know in my bones that I can do it.
I have led a life of giving up when times get tough. School, sports, work, church...everything. If you gave me a dime for every time i gave up on something, i would be the richest man on earth!
As this blog progresses, you will learn more about me through my efforts of becoming the person who i really am.
